PASADO, PRESENTE Y FUTURO DE MEDELLÍN - Nomad Travel

PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE OF MEDELLÍN

This is a very complete experience to understand the reality of Medellin. We will visit the Casa de la Memoria Museum, commune 13 and Ruta N.

This experience is perfect to understand what has happened, is happening and will probably happen in Medellin. It will give us a broad vision of the reality of the city by seeing it from different angles and stories.

We will start by visiting the House of Memory Museum, this is a great tribute built so that our society can heal, remember and never forget what happened, so that history may not repeat itself. In this space we are going to clearly understand what has happened in terms of conflict in our country and what its consequences have been.

Then we will walk through commune 13, cataloged at one time as the most dangerous neighborhood in the world. It was a place that no one dared to go to, and every day there were tragic news in the newspapers. Today it has become the most artistic and vibrant place in the city. Along with the construction of a escalators As a solution to its sloping terrain, this community has been transformed in an incredible way. Now the groups of graffiti artists, rappers and b-boys are the protagonists, as well as organizations dedicated to providing alternatives to the inhabitants of this space that for years only shed tears. Here we will be accompanied by a member of a collective of artists that works for the social and cultural development of the community. With him we will tour the area and listen to real stories of what has been experienced and why it is worth visiting commune 13.

At lunch time we will make a delicious stop at a typical Colombian seafood restaurant, the product of the efforts of a family that came to Medellin fleeing violence in their land.

Finally we will visit the innovation center Route N, there we will take a tour of its facilities while one of its members tells us what they are doing and what they seek to achieve to improve the well-being of the people of the city.
