EXPLORA UN BARRIO IMAGINARIO EN MEDELLÍN - Nomad Travel

EXPLORE AN IMAGINARY NEIGHBORHOOD IN MEDELLÍN

A side of Medellin that few know.

In this tour we will understand the transformation that Medellín has experienced from the eyes of the peasants and muleteers, those who have made the city grow by migrating from all over the country due to forced displacement or looking for new opportunities.

We start by taking the tram and get off at the Bicentenario station to visit La Placita de Florez, the oldest market square in the city.

Then, we will go to Comuna 8, specifically to a neighborhood called El Faro, its name is due to the impressive view it has over the valley and I call it imaginary because the city says that it is not part of it.

Here we take a tour with a local guide who works on the continued development of the community, supporting art and social projects. We will discover how they created the neighborhood with their own hands and how the process of integration with the city has been. The best thing is that by doing this tour in the neighborhood we are contributing to their projects.

After walking through the colorful alleys of El Faro we enter a beautiful forest and in just 20 minutes we reach the top of Cerro Pan de Azúcar, the highest hill in the city where we enjoy the best view in Medellín.
